What it offers

Shikara boats in Kumarakom are small motorboats with chairs that allow you to experience the scenic beauty of Vembanad Lake and Kumarakom's backwaters in a more economical manner compared to the larger, more comfort-oriented houseboats (which have bedrooms). Because they are small, these boats can move faster and navigate smaller canals, allowing tourists to explore deeper into Kumarakom's backwaters. Shikara boats are ideal if you are on a budget in terms of time or money. They can accommodate up to seven persons and will be exclusive to your group. Please note that food is not served on Shikara boats.
